Finally saw the film Dogville over the weekend. Lars von Trier is really a talented filmmaker, despite what at first seems a rather aggressively anti-american tone.

Keep in mind while watching this superbly acted allegory, that the Danish von Trier has never been to the US and says he never plans to visit. Dogville is a mythical United States --a vehicle more used to express his post-911-Bush-doctrined-US-worldview than to attempt to document or even criticize. A point he underscores with the help of David Bowie on the way out. So don't take it too literally...we're not all goin' to the dogs.
